Its like you read my mind! You appear to understand so much about this, such as you wrote the e-book in it or something. I feel that you could do with some % to force the message house a bit, however instead of that, that is excellent blog. A great read. I will certainly be back.

This is futrtrasing for many reasons. First of all, lets pretend that religion has any place in the class room in a public school. Who are YOU to determine that YOUR religion should be what is taught? So, if we're being fair then we need to remove everything from the classroom that goes against any religion's teaching. Lets stop teaching teens about safe sex — actually lets stop teaching sex ed altogether. Who cares if they contract STD's experimenting… The bible says you shouldn't fornicate, so we won't teach them about it because we're scared for them to think its ok. Let's stop teaching the sciences — all of them; because they help people who try to prove there isn't really a God. After all, the bible says that the reason we have the rainbow is because of a promise to Noah, so we can't have them learning about prisms. Who needs to learn about the "big bang" when we've got creation stories? Hot dogs for lunch? That's out. We need to make sure each school lunch is kosher, AND doesn't contain pork (no jello, sorry kids…). Actually, we probably should do away with meat altogether, because killing animals is against a couple of faiths. No dancing, that's wrong too. I mean… we can't stop at homosexuality if we want to keep our kids pure! SIn is sin! I could go on… I could think of a million other RULES that should be in place to insure everyone and every religion is equally represented in public schools because no just Christians go there… but you can already see how RIDICULOUS this is.I think if you want your child taught in accordance with Christian tradition you need to do it at home or enroll them in a school where that is the curriculum. Some people would like their kids to be educated and well rounded. Some people don't mind their children being accepting and tolerant of others and their way of life. Teaching kids to accept something doesn't make it automatically an OPTION for them. I was never, ever, EVER taught to ACCEPT homosexuality. It didn't make me ANY LESS GAY. I've been gay for my entire life, and regardless of what ANYONE wants to say… It wasn't a choice. All the "shielding" my parents did… all that did was make me hate people. And myself. It lead to confusion, depression, and suicidal thoughts. And school? Where kids weren't taught anything about sexuality or alternative lifestyles in the 90's? Oh, that was worst than any punishment. Just imagine being the "gay" kid in class. And you're 7. And you have no concept of what GAY is or anything else is. You just know that when kids want to hurt your feelings they call you "faggot" or "queer" or "gay". Just imagine not having any guy friends because their scared to be your friend because they think you've got some kind of "gay" disease that they are going to catch just by asking you to be on their team during kickball…. Imagine hearing a dad tell their son to STAY AWAY from that gay kid, at 8 years old, while you're outside having a water gun fight with the neighborhood kids (that parent soon met my stepdad, and he was taught to keep his comments to himself after that…I digress). Kids put me through HELL. I was miserable for a very long time, and thought of ending my life FREQUENTLY. But you know what I don't blame any of those kids. I blame the parents who taught them HATE and ignorance instead of tolerance and love for people, not what they are doing, but for them as an individual. I blame the school systems who taught hetero-normative curriculum instead of presenting other ways of life. These kids had NO CONCEPT of what being gay meant, but because I didn't act like all the other boys I was gay and that was the worst thing anyone could POSSIBLY be. No child deserves the torment I went through. But sadly I know some people have it a lot worse. My story isn't an extreme, its the norm. We can't pretend we don't know any more. We can't pretend that we're just protecting our kids anymore. You watch the news, you see the alarming rate of teen suicide. Do we not have any responsibility to them? Or is the world better for having one less gay in it? Since homosexuality is the worst thing in the world. I have a 5 year old nephew and you know what he hates? Naps. and broccoli. His current likes are spiderman, the color yellow and "crabby patties"(aka cheeseburgers). and if I have it my way he'll never hate anything or anyone else. He'll understand Christian teachings and right from wrong. But he'll also understand that people are different and that we all don't live the same way but that doesn't mean they don't have the right to exist as they choose. I'm pretty sure teaching him about uncle Carl and whoever uncle Carl's boyfriend is at the time (in a manner that is appropriate for his age) won't make him gay but it WILL stop him from being one of the bullies or bigots in the classroom. I'm not attacking you. I understand your point of view. but the very RIGHT you have to express that point of view and the lifestyle that you have is the same way other people's point of views and lifestyle should be expressed and heard as well.
